2026 Classes
Here’s what we have confirmed for 2026 - more to come!
Drop spindle for beginners
Taught by Tash Barneveld
The perfect place to start if you want to have a go at spinning your own yarn. We’ll learn about the qualities of different fibres and how they influence spinning technique, and get you started on using a drop spindle.
We’ll have a couple of spinning wheels available for you to try out during the weekend too.
Band Weaving
Taught by Christine Brimer
In this 3 hour class, design and weave a beautiful, reusable band to be used as a bookmark, a set of clothing or towel tags, a tie for a parcel or floral bouquet, or for gathering a home sewn bag.
You will leave with a finished band, your own tool kit, skills and materials to complete a longer band that we start in class after discussing your design ideas.
Using natural dyes
Taught by Rebecca Martin
Rebecca is the indie dyer behind Good Wool, an exclusively naturally-dyed yarn brand. Bex will show you the ropes of using natural dyes on wool. Dye your own non-super wash yarn to take home from this session (we’ll ship it to you once it’s processed and dried).
Handmade Notebook
Taught by Sarah Drake
The highly popular class from 2025 is back, with a bit of extra time to get deeper into the art of making a double-section notebook.
As a companion to this class we will have a range of collage materials for you to start creating straight away!
Discover creative journalling
Taught by Mira Bradshaw
In this 3 hour class, we're going to explore creative journalling and what it can involve. We’ll talk about different types of journalling, how to build a regular journalling habit that fits your life and is really sustainable, and you’ll learn about different types of creative supplies that you can use to bring a bit more craft to this practice.
Covering how to use stamps for beginners with a chance to explore and try different techniques, options for washi tapes, stickers and other creative supplies, and tips about colour play, we'll do some creative play and make a journalling page together.
Embroidered garment
Taught by Melissa Wastney
In this class, we'll be inspired by sticker book tattoos, where unique doodles are collected over time, to embroider on a garment. You’ll learn some simple stitches and choose from a range of tattoo-inspired motifs to create a piece that is unique to you. There will also be an option to work on a cushion cover if you'd prefer. You'll learn the best techniques for stitching on clothing and lots of other tips and tricks for an enjoyable make.
Please bring a piece of clothing made from linen or sturdy cotton (woven fabrics are best and second-hand is encouraged!) Thread, hoops and a selection of illustrated templates for embroidery will be provided.
Build a fabric flower
Taught by Di Massey-Molloy
Enjoy the journey of taking fabric, buttons, beads, ribbon and other magpie-delights and turning them into a flower.
This class will lead you through making a ‘scaffold’ which opens you up to a whole range of options - a brooch, a hairtie, an embellishment, a decoration. We’ll provide an abundance of materials to rummage through and create your chosen finished object.
Two-handed stranded knitting
Taught by Tash Barneveld
Learn the techniques required to knit fair isle patterns - starting off with using both hands to knit, through to tension and carrying floats.
This class does require homework - it will be sent in advance.
