2026 Classes

Here’s what we have confirmed for 2026 - more to come!

Drop spindle for beginners

Taught by Tash Barneveld

The perfect place to start if you want to have a go at spinning your own yarn. We’ll learn about the qualities of different fibres and how they influence spinning technique, and get you started on using a drop spindle.

We’ll have a couple of spinning wheels available for you to try out during the weekend too.

Band Weaving

Taught by Christine Brimer

In this 3 hour class, design and weave a beautiful, reusable band to be used as a bookmark, a set of clothing or towel tags, a tie for a parcel or floral bouquet, or for gathering a home sewn bag.

You will leave with a finished band, your own tool kit, skills and materials to complete a longer band that we start in class after discussing your design ideas.

Here’s our classes from 2025 - expect a repeat of some, alongside new classes in 2026

Paint your own hand-made mug

Taught by Gemma Brown

Get creative and transform a plain cup into a piece of art at this paint a pot session. Perfect for beginners through to experienced artists. Gemma will be on hand for guidance, tips and tricks.

All supplies provided, just bring your imagination! Your cups will be clear glazed and fired to be dishwasher safe. Cups will be shipped to you once they are ready.

Gemma will also have throwing demo sessions during the weekend, which you can sign up for on the day and try out a pottery wheel.

Embroidered project bag

Taught by Melissa Wastney

Melissa is joining us again to share her amazing embroidery skills. In this class, you’ll be learning basic embroidery stitches in a mini sampler which will leave you with a useable project bag. This is the perfect entry to playing around with stitches to add to your creative projects, and inspired a number of our 2019 attendees to go beyond the class and learn more about embroidery.

Again, all supplies will be provided and you’ll be able to take everything home with you.

Embroidery on wool

Taught by Melissa Wastney

A second option with Melissa, embroidery on wool is a different expedition to working with woven fabric. Use this technique to embellish garments or to mend and hide holes in knitwear.

Bring your own piece of knit fabric - such as a swatch or handknit - and Melissa will share with you a range of stitches to try.

Learn to knit

Taught by Tash (probably!)

If you aren’t yet a knitter, and would like to be - this session is for you! While Craft Camp is aimed at people who knit, that doesn’t mean non-knitters can’t participate. Come along and learn this ancient skill that has proven benefits for wellbeing.

We’ll give you everything you need to get started with learning to cast on, knit, purl and give useful information for selecting yarn and projects.

Using natural dyes

Taught by Rebecca Martin

Rebecca is the indie dyer behind Good Wool, an exclusively naturally-dyed yarn brand. Bex will show you the ropes of using natural dyes on wool. We’re still working out the finer details for this session, but you will have your own yarn to take home from this session (we’ll ship it to you once it’s processed and dried).

More classes to come!

Watch this space as we add more classes - including evening speakers and an intermediate-level knitting class.
